Convergence International
|
Convergence International's Mission is to reduce the threat the Wintel market (80x86/Pentium-based
architectures running a Microsoft operating system such as Windows) represents to the rest of the market.
The IBM PC/Wintel market has slowly increased it's market share, until the point where today it holds
approximately 90% of the entire market. The livelihood and future prospects for other platforms are not
looking good. More recently, people have started to realise that the PowerPC Platform may be our last hope
to attack back as a united force. Acorn, Amiga, Apple and Be all plan or already have made the move towards
PowerPC.

Industry Council Open Amiga
The Industry Council (or IC for short) is designed to be the Amiga standards body. Part of its function will
be as a forum where developers can discuss, debate and plan but far more important will be its function as a
dynamic researcher and specifier of interfaces, protocols and architectures.
The IC will serve as the common ground and a meeting place for the various functional areas of the Amiga
development community.

community is still very much alive. Silly Cat wants to bring Amiga Fans from all over the world together, so that
if you need a programmer, a graphic artist, a musician or simply help of any kind, you can consult this
Gold Book to find the person you need!
