 | This posts reminds me of the times when Lightwave was still used and supported by amiga users... sigh Of course render farms using amigas belong to science-fiction nowadays... but recently a new renderer has appeared : Kray, it has a lot of features which are common with lightwave : loading of LWO objects (I think scene loading is a project), radiosity, subsurface scattering. It still lacks a GUI, but it is very promising. http://www.kray.prv.pl/ PPC rendering translator for Lightwave Amiga Multimedia / Graphics / 3D / Rendering 22/04/2004 16:16 |

 | The port of an "AMOS-like" language to C has begun. The project is called Mattathias and its goal is to take the language specification of the AMOS languages and make them portable to other operating systems and processors including the PowerPC. If you want more information you can visit the AMOS Factory at http://www.liquido2.com or the project Mattathias home page at http://sourceforge.net/projects/mattathias A Powerpc version of Amos Development / Languages / Amos 08/10/2002 00:11 |
 | I think that this is not a good idea if the purpose behind this is to reproduce the anoying and resource eater "Active Desktop". I think that this is a waste of time. An HTML-style Workbench Screen Utilities / Workbench 04/10/2002 06:01 |

 | Hi, > I'd like a software package to be introduced that would allow > Amigas to use DVD-ROM drives I am using a DVD RAM drive, will that do? The Allegro filesystem by Elbox supports DVD drives and UDF DVD video disks Amp also supports playing DVD`s if your Amiga has a DVD, lots of ram and fast interface. | AslToRT on Aminet can patch ReqTools requesters to use ASL instead. However, IIRC, there is a problem with selecting drawers in VirusZ for example (you can't multiselect drawers IIRC). | I use a utility on my Winblows 98 box that allows one to 'cut' holes [circle, rectangle, polygonal, and freeform] in windows, and it is great, i think an amiga version would be good aswell, but there are some constraints as pointed out by others Look Through Screens! | Even better - For us Newtek VideoToaster Users, 3 screens [built in RGB/VGA ports for one; Preview for another; Program for another] Two workbench screens ON two different screens in the same time Utilities / Workbench 15/04/2002 11:17 |
 | I have made some [very basic] interactive windows screensavers [.scr] and all they are is Windows executables [.exe] that support certain command line strings [ -p = preview, -c = configure, -s = show; if i remeber correctly] that are renamed to end in .scr, so if you want to do this, just make a windows emu [EVIL] Program to use Windows .scr blanker modules on Amiga Utilities / Commodities 15/04/2002 11:17 |
 | this could be done if we A) Monitor the packets that the 95 game sends with a packet sniffer [simple] and B) base our version on its way of thinking [does one machine randomize the cards and deal them out so each machine knows what each machine has or does one machine randomize them and tell the others only what they get, etc], and use its protocol, only problem i see is connecting a BNC-based network [as most miggy network cards are] to a Cat-5 based network [most PC networks] without devoting a PC as a router MS-Hearts compatible network hearts game.
