Short description
An handler to access http: URLs
Proposed name
HTTPMount
Full description
This soft would be analogue to FTPMount, except it would mount WWW sites instead of FTP ones. This would allow, for example, to create easily small and compact browsers, or to use the already existent html.datatype to browse the net. Other applications could be direct playback of sounds or animations from the net, as neither Voyager nor IBrowse (I don't know for AWeb) support piped external viewers.

You can download a http-handler from http://home.wtal.de/js/ Using Multiview as webbrowser is possible with html.datatype (from http://stephan-rupprecht.de/), and http-handler, but pictures don't work, only text.

This is a good idea. I could surf with Multiview if I want! :) It also makes it possible for a program to use files not available on the local machine. This would integrate the internet into the OS, in some way. For example if a library is too old, a new version will be used from the programs WWW site...
